Thermography is a clean, Non-Destructive science that utilizes well established physics of infrared radiation.
Drones are cutting-edge technology powered by renewable energy. They combine automation and advanced electronic sensing to perform multiple tasks including thermal imaging
Bringing both together creates a profession that is uniquely positioned to advance the 21st century ambition of global decarbonization across multiple industries.
Building energy audits, environmental monitoring, industrial inspections are just a few of the many industries increasingly using these combined disciplines

sRPAS/sUAS Thermography Is a 20-hour online or in-person course for the application of qualitative infrared imaging using a drone-based thermal imager. This course provides a Level I certification when passing the exam with 80% or higher.
This course covers infrared theory, heat transfer concepts, equipment operation and selection, standards compliance, image analysis, and report generation.
Students are trained to identify and document thermal patterns caused by improper design, workmanship, or material failure. Specific applications include electrical distribution systems, mechanical systems, steam systems, refractory systems, underground piping, active thermography, building envelopes, and flat roofs.
Self-directed learning activities are provided to help the student gain practical experience; however, one need not have thermal imaging equipment to successfully complete the course.
Course tuition includes 24-hour access to all online course presentations, Student Reference Manual, online quizzes, proof of course completion, and free ground shipping of course materials to the continental US and Canada. Students must complete training within 60 days of registration.
Course completion qualifies students to take the Infraspection Institute certified sRPAS/sUAS Thermographer ® Exam. Exams are available at no charge at the end of regularly scheduled open enrollment classes or at Infraspection Institute’s annual IR/INFO Conference. For a fee, exams may be taken via secure video link or at authorized testing centers. Course completion and passing grade on certification exam qualify for 20 points toward initial membership in the Infraspection Institute Master Thermographer ® program.

Drone-based thermography revealed hidden insulation gaps and HVAC inefficiencies in a newly constructed office space, saving the client thousands in energy costs and supporting LEED certification documentation.
Using multispectral imaging, we identified early signs of crop stress across a 200-acre farm, enabling the grower to adjust irrigation and fertilizer usage before yield was impacted.
A homeowner looking to improve their energy footprint used our thermal scan to detect roof heat loss and window leakage. Recommendations led to targeted improvements and reduced energy bills.
JLLOCA partnered with a conservation group to monitor water levels and vegetation health in a protected wetland. The data supported an ongoing habitat restoration project.
After completing JLLOCA’s training program, a student transitioned into a full-time role as a certified thermographer, now working on municipal energy audits using drone-based thermal data.
